Study skills: A guide to learning and developing skills
CNN learned the most about how to become a better learner.
Here’s what we learned:The most important steps to improving study skills are not learning everything at once but learning what you need to know to succeed.
“You have to be a good listener,” said David S. Ritter, Ph.
D., director of the Center for Educational Leadership.
“If you don’t listen, you’re not going to learn anything.”
To do that, study the basics, study from the top, and pay attention to the questions you’re asked.
“The most effective way to learn is by reading,” said John W. Schott, Ph., a professor of psychology and the director of research and evaluation at the Center on Learning and Instruction at the University of Washington.
“But reading and listening can be combined.
You can get better if you read and listen to the teacher.”
For example, the teacher may ask you questions that are not your job.
The student should understand these things so that you don
